What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Supply Chain Analyst position at Ember Life Sciences Inc.?
Ember is seeking a high-impact Supply Chain Analyst who can operate at a senior individual contributor level and support a broad range of supply chain activities as the organization scales.
This is a force-multiplier role. You will support manufacturing, logistics, inventory, and sourcing decisions by building analytical structure, visibility, and discipline across the supply chain. The scope is intentionally broad and hands-on, spanning data analysis, operational execution, and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Contract Manufacturers, and Logistics partners to help Ember scale reliably and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing & Contract Manufacturing Operations
- Analyze BOM structures, material costs, and build configurations across multiple product lines
- Track and explain purchase price variance (PPV), spot buys, and cost drivers
- Support build planning, MOQs, and capacity alignment with contract manufacturers
- Maintain visibility into build status, material readiness, and risks
- Develop standardized reporting for CM performance, yield, and cost trends
- Logistics & Cold-Chain Shipping Analytics
- Analyze shipment data across lanes, carriers, and regions (outbound and return)
- Support cold-chain performance analysis (time, temperature, exceptions, loss)
- Track shipping costs, transit times, and carrier performance
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost and variability while maintaining service levels
- Inventory & Demand Planning
- Monitor inventory levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Support demand forecasting inputs and supply planning assumptions
- Identify risks related to excess, obsolete, or constrained inventory
- Help establish inventory policies, reorder logic, and planning cadence appropriate for a scaling startup
- Cost, Sourcing, and Supplier Performance
- Build and maintain supplier cost models and spend visibility
- Track supplier performance metrics (cost, delivery, responsiveness)
- Support sourcing decisions with data-driven analysis
- Assist with supplier negotiations through fact-based insights
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Leadership has clear, trusted visibility into cost, inventory, and operational drivers
- Manufacturing and logistics decisions are supported by repeatable analyses, not ad-hoc firefighting
- PPV, inventory exposure, and shipping costs are understood and actively managed
- Core supply chain reporting is simpler, cleaner, and more actionable
- You are increasingly acting as an owner, not just an analyst — positioning yourself for a Manager role
Compensation & Benefits (California Pay Transparency)

- This salary range is provided in compliance with California pay transparency laws and reflects the expected base compensation for this role at the time of posting.
