Seeking an experienced Mine Hydrogeologist to support the Copper World project in Arizona. This is a field and office-based technical role responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting hydrogeological data to support feasibility studies, groundwater management planning, and geotechnical decision-making across a large-scale copper mining development.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Senior Geotechnical Engineer with feasibility study activities through hydrogeological data analysis and technical input
• Collect, assess, and interpret groundwater and hydrogeological data from site investigations
• Perform and oversee borehole testing including packer tests, airlift tests, pump tests, and injection tests
• Coordinate and manage groundwater monitoring programs and data collection systems
• QA/QC hydrogeological and geotechnical datasets to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Assist in developing groundwater monitoring plans and water balance models
• Conduct site inspections, workplace examinations, and hazard identification activities
• Review technical reports and provide summaries, interpretations, and recommendations
• Support hydrology and geotechnical programs across feasibility and early project development stages
• Collaborate with consultants, engineers, and cross-functional technical teams
• Assist in planning and execution of hydrogeological data acquisition programs
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards on site
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geology, Mining, Civil, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience in hydrogeological data collection, monitoring, and analysis
• Hands-on experience with borehole testing (packer tests, pump tests, airlift, injection testing)
• Experience installing and working with piezometers and groundwater monitoring systems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical data management tools
• Ability to work in both field and office environments on active mining projects
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams
• Valid driver’s licence with ability to travel to and from remote site locations
Preferred Experience
• Previous mine site experience in hydrogeology or geotechnical environments
• Experience supporting feasibility studies or large-scale mining projects
• Proficiency with hydrogeological and modelling software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, MODFLOW, SEEP/W, or MinePlan
• Exposure to groundwater modelling, water balance studies, or dewatering systems
• Experience working alongside geotechnical and environmental engineering teams
• Strong understanding of mining-related hydrogeological challenges in arid environments
