What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef de Cuisine position at Ember & Ash?
Ember & Ash is a live-fire kitchen on East Passyunk Avenue, known for creative, ingredient-driven cooking rooted in technique and global inspiration. We’re looking for a Chef de Cuisine to lead our kitchen. Someone who’s both visionary and hands-on, capable of running a tight, passionate team while helping push our food forward.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 4 years of professional kitchen experience, including leadership in a scratch, high-caliber restaurant
- Strong understanding of live-fire cooking and whole-animal butchery (or the curiosity to master it)
- Proven ability to manage systems, ordering, and scheduling while maintaining quality and consistency
- A genuine respect for teamwork, mentorship, and hospitality — both in and out of the kitchen
What you’ll do:
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and lead BOH team
- Collaborate on menu development, seasonal changes, and creative events
- Uphold the integrity of our food, culture, and service standards
- Work closely with FOH leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience
