Summary: The Babysitting Camp Instructor at EmBe plays a key role in empowering youth ages 11–15 with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to become safe, responsible, and successful babysitters. This position leads small, interactive camps that teach essential topics such as child safety, age-appropriate care, infant diapering, basic first aid and CPR.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensure EmBe's brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
- Willing to become American Red Cross Instructor Certified in Babysitting Camp Curriculum and First Aid/CPR/AED.
- Independently carry out camp curriculum provided by American Red Cross with up to 12 students aged 11-15 years.
- Work collaboratively with Program Manager to improve camp curriculum with fun activities that help further their learning.
- Send out parent/guardian communication with participants and answer any questions regarding camp.
- Manage camp expectations and participant behaviors to ensure all campers have a good experience.
- Maintain a fun, clean, and safe camp environment for you and the students.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and presentation skills with experience leading youth in small or large group settings required
- Passionate about child safety and development and motivated to teach youth about best babysitting practices
- Classroom management experience preferred
- Experience teaching to various learning styles in educational setting preferred
Schedule:
- Onboarding and training will begin in March/April with online trainings from American Red Cross and one in-person training session.
- In person instructor training in Omaha March 21st. EmBe will pay travel expenses.
- First Camp will be the last week in May (W/Th). All other camps are held on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the summer. One camp session per week.
- Two sessions will be held in Madison. EmBe does reimburse milage.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move about the facility for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, and position training materials and equipment (up to approximately 25 pounds), such as dolls, supplies, and camp materials.
- Ability to demonstrate physical skills related to babysitting instruction, including diapering, safe lifting, and basic first aid/CPR techniques.
- Ability to maintain visual and auditory awareness of campers to ensure safety and appropriate supervision.
- Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and reach while setting up activities or modeling infant and child care tasks.
