Responsibilities
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored to uphold health standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning to support chefs and cooks during busy service times.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, and organizing storage areas regularly.
- Support catering and banquet setups by preparing serving stations and ensuring all necessary supplies are ready for service.
- Follow food handling safety procedures meticulously to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal service, including bussing tables when needed.
- Help with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need restocking or replacement.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; eagerness to learn is essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy trays or containers.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in a fast-paced setting.
