Bartender / Evening Reception Host (Part time with possibility for Full Time)

The Flagstaff Embassy Suites, proudly managed by Baywood Hospitality, is looking for a positive, energetic, and guest-focused Bartender/Evening Reception Host to join our team.

As the face of our nightly Evening Reception, you'll create memorable guest experiences by providing friendly service, preparing beverages, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring our complimentary reception is fully stocked and running smoothly.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional hospitality. Prior bartending or food & beverage experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate who brings a great attitude and a passion for service.

Schedule
Typical shift is approximately 4:15 PM – 9:45 PM, with bar service operating from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM during the summer season.

What You'll Do

Create Exceptional Guest Experiences

• Welcome guests warmly during the Embassy Suites Evening Reception
• Provide friendly, attentive, and professional beverage service
• Engage with guests and create a fun, welcoming atmosphere
• Answer questions about the hotel, amenities, and local attractions
• Remember guests' names and drinks is a huge plus!
• Have fun!!! The bar is a fun place to be and we hope you have fun with it. That translates into a great atmosphere and guest experience

Bartending & Reception Operations

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with Arizona state laws and company policies
• Verify guest eligibility and identification when required
• Maintain accurate beverage inventory and report shortages
• Handle room charges and credit card transactions accurately
• Follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines

Food & Beverage Setup

• Set up, replenish, and break down complimentary evening snacks and reception offerings
• Ensure food presentation meets brand and company standards
• Monitor product levels throughout service and restock as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, reception area, and back-of-house storage areas

Professional & Positive Presence

• Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor
• Follow Hilton brand standards and Baywood Hospitality service expectations
• Support teammates and contribute to a positive workplace culture

Communication & Teamwork

• Participate in shift briefings and daily communication
• Be collaborative and positive
• Coordinate with the front desk and management team regarding guest needs
• Assist other departments as needed to ensure a seamless guest experience

Safety & Cleanliness

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
• Follow food safety and alcohol service regulations
• Adhere to all safety, security, and emergency procedures
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly

Skills & Qualifications

Experience

• Bartending, restaurant, food & beverage, or hospitality experience preferred
• Customer service experience in any industry is a plus

Skills

• Friendly, outgoing, and professional personality
• Excellent guest service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable and self-motivated
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Availability

• Evening availability required
• Must be available weekends and holidays as business demands

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for the majority of the shift
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and stocking of supplies (up to 50 lbs)
• Occasional bending, reaching, and pushing/pulling
