Your premium skills in EMR systems and HIPAA compliance will be vital in maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. With relevant expertise in Microsoft Office and customer service, you will contribute significantly to creating a welcoming environment for patients and supporting the overall functionality of the medical office.
Qualifications
- A pleasing and pleasant personality
- Proven experience in medical office administration and front desk operations
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, and/or eClinicalWorks
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent patient service and communication skills
- Ability to manage medical records and perform clerical tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems
Check In/Front Desk Duties
- Greet patients
- Check patients in within EHR Software Compulink
Verify Info Changes
- Phone Number
- Address
- Insurance
Collect:
- Copay/Coinsurance
- Deductibles
Process New Patients
- Give them “New Patient Info Sheet” to fill out
- Verify all Insurance 1 day in advance
- Answer Phones
- Make appointments
- Cancel, reschedule, etc.
- Take Messages
- Mail out claims
- Type Letters for patients
- Enter data for consults (patient’s seen at the hospital)
- Post Payments
- Send “No Show” notices/ enter No Show charge in computer
- Dilate Patients
- Call in Prescriptions
- If Ok’d by Dr Wilkes
- Compile Information Packets
- Organize referrals sent form Doctor’s Offices, VA, Tricare, etc.
- Copy Charts/Medical Records
- Conduct yourself in accordance with Emanuel Wilkes MD PC’s employee manual.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
- ***You will be Cross-Trained to know the basic Functions of
Check-In and Check-Out in addition your duties***
Such as:
- Creating/Canceling/Rescheduling Appointments
- Checking In/Out Patients
- Answering Phones and Taking Messages
- Calling In/Electronically Prescribing Prescriptions
- Posting Payments
- Verifying Insurance
- Scheduling Surgeries
- Dilating Patients (occasionally)
- Compiling Pre-Operative Booklets
- Check-Out Duties
- Collect Patient Payments
- Maintain a balanced drawer and hand-written receipts and account for all payments collected within Practice Management Software
- Checkout Patients
- Enter Procedures and Diagnoses upon Checkout
- Schedule Follow Up Appointments
- Schedule Surgery
- Schedule Tests
- Upload call list to give Reminder Calls to Patients
- Scan documents into patient’s charts
- Fax documents to other Dr’s offices
- Call in Prescriptions/Electronically Prescribe
- Answer Phones
- Take messages
- Schedule/Reschedule/Cancel Appointments
- Posting payments
- Verifying insurance
- Compiling pre-operative booklets
- Organize confirmed scheduled surgeries
- Conduct self in accordance with Emanuel Wilkes MD PC’s employee manual.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
