Role Description The Wedding Coordinator (Lead & Assistant Roles) is a contract, on-site position based in Houston, TX. Coordinators work directly with couples and vendors to organize timelines, manage rehearsals, oversee ceremony and reception logistics, and ensure all event details run smoothly on the wedding day. Typical tasks include confirming vendor arrivals, coordinating décor setup and breakdown, cueing the wedding party and MC/DJ, managing the schedule, and addressing any unexpected issues quickly and calmly. Lead Coordinators may handle client communication, pre-event planning meetings, and final walkthroughs, while Assistant Coordinators support execution, guest guidance, and behind-the-scenes coordination. Both roles require strong professionalism, clear communication, and a service-minded approach to delivering a stress-free experience for
clients.Qualifications
- Experience in wedding or event coordination, including timeline management, vendor communication, and on-site execution.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple details, priorities, and last-minute changes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with clients, guests, vendors, and team members in a professional, inclusive manner.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, calm demeanor under pressure, and sound judgment during live events.
- Customer service mindset, with a focus on creating welcoming, affirming experiences for all couples, including LGBTQ clients.
- Ability to work long shifts on event days, stand for extended periods, and assist with light setup and breakdown tasks.
- Reliable transportation to venues in and around Houston, TX, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in hospitality, events, or related fields; familiarity with photography, videography, DJ/MC, or décor services is a plus.
