eMagin is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) – OLED Display Technology to drive growth across commercial, defense, and government markets. This role is responsible for identifying new opportunities, securing long-term programs, and building strong customer partnerships centered around eMagin’s advanced OLED microdisplay technology.
The BDM works closely with customers and internal stakeholders—including engineering, manufacturing, product development, and executive leadership—to align customer needs with eMagin’s technical capabilities. Success in this role requires a consultative approach, strong government and defense market experience, and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical value propositions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and grow new business opportunities for eMagin’s OLED display products across commercial, defense, and government customers.
- Lead early engagement with U.S. government and defense customers to understand future requirements and position eMagin for upcoming programs.
- Manage business development activities from initial opportunity identification through proposal submission, contract award, and transition to execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, including program managers, procurement teams, and senior decision-makers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, product development, and finance teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and supported.
- Clearly articulate the value and benefits of eMagin’s OLED display solutions in alignment with customer missions, goals, and use cases.
- Support proposal development, pricing strategies, and responses to customer requests in compliance with government contracting requirements.
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and customer data within the CRM system.
- Monitor market trends, customer priorities, and competitive activity within government, defense, and commercial sectors.
- Represent eMagin at industry events, customer meetings, and strategic business discussions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of successful B2B sales experience, including demonstrated success selling to U.S. government and defense customers.
- Strong consultative, solutions-oriented sales experience with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience selling advanced technology products preferred (e.g., displays, electronics, microelectronics, or related components).
- Proven ability to manage long, complex sales cycles involving government contracts and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience supporting or leading proposal development and navigating government acquisition and purchasing processes.
- Familiarity with defense, aerospace, industrial, medical, or emerging display technology markets.
- Working knowledge of government contracting rules and acquisition frameworks.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and business development goals.
- High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and personal accountability.
- Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office tools.
