Shape Manufacturing Outcomes as a Manufacturing Solutions Sales Engineer

Why EMAG? The EMAG Group believes great people build great companies. At EMAG LLC, you’ll grow your capabilities through challenging work, personalized development, and international exposure—backed by a rich benefits package that includes a competitive 401(k) match and a $0 employee premium for medical, dental, and vision coverage.

A day in this role

Your morning might start by unpacking a new RFQ: reviewing prints, tolerances, and cycle time targets. You sketch a conceptual process flow, translate it into a system layout, and run preliminary simulations to validate throughput. Midday, you sit down with Engineering and Operations to review feasibility, surface risks, and align on standards. In the afternoon, you connect with suppliers to verify costs and lead times, finalize pricing inputs, and support the Technical Sales Manager during a customer presentation—translating complex technical concepts into clear, business-ready recommendations. Some weeks include domestic or international travel for on-site discovery and solution reviews.

What you’ll own
  • Technical solutioning: Analyze customer RFQs and specifications; design conceptual process flows and layouts; select equipment (turning, grinding, gear hobbing and grinding, ECM/PECM, laser processing) and define automation/robotics where needed.
  • Feasibility and optimization: Identify risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities; ensure solutions meet customer requirements, engineering standards, and internal business objectives.
  • Quotations and costing: Build accurate technical sales quotations under the guidance of the Technical Sales Manager; create cost sheets, assess cost structures, and develop pricing inputs; confirm supplier feasibility and lead times.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to clarify scope, validate costs, and assess risks; contribute to proposal packages, technical documentation, and customer-facing materials.
  • Technical leadership: Interpret drawings to define process steps and critical features; track new technologies and competitive trends; improve tools, templates, and documentation used by the Technical Sales organization.
  • Customer engagement: Participate in on-site/remote meetings and presentations; provide technically grounded guidance that builds customer confidence.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or a related engineering field—or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years in technical sales, applications engineering, or machinery/system integration, ideally within machining systems, capital equipment, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Clear, concise communication skills—comfortable presenting complex ideas to technical and business audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Skills that set you apart
  • Data analysis and interpretation for cost/throughput modeling.
  • Mechanical design and product development exposure; ability to read/interpret engineering drawings.
  • Budgeting and forecasting acumen for building competitive proposals aligned to profitability targets.
  • Process development aptitude across machining, ECM/PECM, laser processes, and automation/robotics.
Tools & technologies
  • CNC Automation Solutions and related capital equipment ecosystems.
