Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, systems-driven EHS Compliance Specialist to own documentation, regulatory tracking, and audit readiness of our environmental, health, and safety programs.

The ideal candidate thrives on data integrity, regulatory accuracy, and robust record-keeping. You will ensure our management systems are completely aligned with OSHA, EPA, and industry frameworks (such as ISO/IATF standards).

Core Responsibilities

System Management & Regulatory Documentation

  • Maintain, audit, and systematically update the company’s Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure 100% training completion compliance across all shifts.
  • Accurately manage and submit federal and state regulatory logs, including OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 filings.
  • Standardize, review, and archive specialized equipment procedures, specifically owning the documentation architecture for Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Maintain the digital Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database, ensuring global harmonization compliance for all on-site chemicals.

Audit Readiness & Risk Administration

  • Serve as the primary documentation coordinator for external audits (OSHA, EPA, and insurance underwriters).
  • Administer the Workers’ Compensation documentation process, coordinating directly with third-party administrators (TPAs), tracking return-to-work metrics, and analyzing incident trends.
  • Review site inspection data collected and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to completion via internal action trackers.
  • Monitor local, state, and federal regulatory changes (including IEPA updates) to ensure company policies remain proactively compliant.

Communication & Training Support

  • Build, update, and distribute standardized curriculum for employee safety onboarding and annual refresher courses.
  • Provide data-driven safety and compliance metrics to facility leadership to guide strategic, proactive risk management decisions.
  • Coordinate safety committee administrative needs, documenting meeting minutes and following up on administrative deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience managing compliance documentation, ideally within an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy logistics environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Risk Management, Business Administration, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced capability with Excel (pivot tables, data tracking), document control software, and enterprise LMS platforms.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong operational familiarity with OSHA 1910 standards, general EPA/state-level environmental data reporting, and basic Workers' Comp administration frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
  • Experience aligning safety management databases with international manufacturing quality frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001 or IATF 16949).

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
