Job Summary:
The CAD technician is an essential member of our design and production team, responsible for developing accurate, detailed technical drawings and models that support mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology engineering projects. This role collaborates closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to translate conceptual sketches, specifications, and markups into high-quality construction documents. The CAD technician helps ensure project deliverables are precise, timely, and aligned with company drafting standards.

Job responsibilities include:
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology systems using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Incorporate engineer markups, design changes, and redlines accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in maintaining drawing accuracy, version control, and adherence to drafting standards across multiple projects.
- Support model development and coordination for multidisciplinary MEP/T designs.
- Create sheet layouts, schedules, diagrams, and details as required for construction document packages.
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to understand project scope, design intent, and schedule expectations.
- Participate in internal project meetings when needed to coordinate design updates and clarify technical requirements.
- Communicate proactively regarding design conflicts, missing information, or potential issues.
- Support QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy and consistency of drawings.
- Follow company drafting standards, templates, and workflows to ensure consistency across projects.
- Maintain proficiency in drafting software; adapt to new technology, tools, and procedures as they are implemented.
- Assist in updating and refining drafting standards and libraries as directed.
Experience:
0–3 years of drafting experience in an architecture, engineering, or construction environment (MEP/T experience preferred).
Education/Requirements:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with BIM workflows is a plus.
