What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laempe Operator (Core Making Machine Operator) 1am- 11:30am Shift position at Elyria Foundry?
Elyria Foundry is hiring for the Core Department within our facility in Elyria, OH just minutes from downtown! We are looking for a dedicated, hard working operator for this 1am shift. We are a second chance employer, we do not perform background checks for hourly employees.
HOURS: 1am - 9:30am or 11:30am if working 10 hour shifts
Job Duties Can Include-
- Operating the Lampe (Foundry Core machine) efficiently
- Core Making Department support
- Reading work orders
- Operating heavy machinery
- Creating molds and cores for our metal castings
- Using grinders and hand tools to clean castings
- lifting 50 lbs consistently
- Working in confined spaces
- Using equipment such as hand tools, industrial metal furnaces, tow motors, blasters and overhead cranes
- Working with a team as well as independently
Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials during your shift
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable wearing FULL RESPIRATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT
- Standing and bending for long periods of time
- Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour (starting rate). Eligible for pay increases within the first 90 days based on attendance and performance.
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
