Elyria Catholic High School is seeking a Classroom Aide. Hours are 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for a total of 35 hours per week.
Founded in 1947 by Monsignor William Newton, Elyria Catholic High School has been shaping the next generation of saints and leaders for over 75 years. As the only Catholic high school in Lorain County, we take pride in being a close-knit, faith-filled community where students are known, challenged, and supported. With 530 students in grades nine through twelve, we provide a personalized education that nurtures both mind and heart. Responsibilities include:
- Attending class with students and assisting them with schoolwork and behavior throughout the day.
- Enjoy working with small groups of students in the classroom, ensuring that they receive the necessary support outlined in their IEPs.
- Assist classroom teachers in creating an atmosphere in which students feel safe and welcomed.
- Use instructional strategies to assist with student learning and help students meet requirements for coursework.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and communicate with the classroom teacher.
- Support students with academic challenges and provide encouragement.
- Regularly communicate necessary information to students, team members, and supervisors regarding students’ needs.
- Work collaboratively with other staff for the good of our students and school.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio aide license or ability to obtain
- Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
- Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education.
