GIS Analyst II
The Role
Position Description (PD)
The GIS Analyst II provides journeyman-level GIS support for recurring geospatial analysis, mapping, and data maintenance tasks. This role supports geospatial database administration, quality control, and assurance activities; assists with dashboard and application development; participates on interdisciplinary teams; and develops and maintains metadata for GIS projects. The GIS Analyst II supports data compatibility assessments, identifies missing or incomplete data, and assists senior staff with mapping products and spatial analysis in support of BIA leadership and stakeholder needs.
Personnel Qualifications (PQ)
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional GIS experience
- Working knowledge of ESRI GIS software and tools
- Experience performing spatial analysis, mapping, and data QA/QC
- Familiarity with geospatial database concepts and metadata development
- Ability to develop basic GIS applications or dashboards under supervision
- Experience working on interdisciplinary teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established standards and procedures
