ELY Inc. is a small museum services company located on in the DC area. Since 1998 we have been working with museums of all sizes and private collectors, both locally and nationally, to install, deinstall, mount, pack, crate, and store collections.

Fabricator/Installer
ELY, Inc. is looking for a full-time fabricator/installer to work in our shop and on-site at museums making custom, high-end packing and crates for museum artifacts. Willing to train the right person in the art handling if they have the technical skills we are looking for. Position is hourly.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Technical skills in wood and metal fabrication
• Ability to run and maintain saws and power tools
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks, such as climbing ladders and bending often
• Physical strength to lift heavy artifacts, tools and equipment (over 50 lbs)
• Dexterity and good hand-eye coordination, with the ability to manipulate and assemble very large and extremely small components
• Attention to detail and quality
• Good communication skills and ability follow instruction
• Problem solver and desire to learn new skills
• Positive and professional attitude
• Ability to work in team but also independently
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to travel for 2-3 weeks for projects periodically a plus
