STEM Elementary School Teacher (4th or 5th Grade) 

Elwood Haynes STEM Elementary School 

Job Summary: The Teacher will provide diverse learning opportunities using real-world projects and experiences with a STEM focus; receive ongoing training for STEM and 1:1 technology integration; revise curriculum to meet STEM requirements; participate in district and building level professional development; collaborate with other STEM teachers. 

Certification and Qualifications:  Indiana Teaching License-Elementary Certification; demonstration of leadership; strong skills in interpersonal communication and collaboration; history of using differentiated strategies in instruction; demonstrated ability to integrate technology in instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess and document student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
2. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and collaborative planning.
3. Supervise students during school activities, field trips, and breaks.
4. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs.
5. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
6. Comply with school policies, state regulations, and ethical teaching standards.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during classroom instruction and supervision.
2. Manual dexterity to operate classroom technology and equipment.
3. Visual and auditory ability to monitor student behavior and respond to classroom situations.
4. Ability to move quickly in response to student safety needs.
5. Ability to perform light physical activities—such as bending, kneeling, and reaching—as required in a classroom setting, as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
