Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour

Job Description

A medical office specializing in urology is seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our team. The ideal applicant must have biopsy cutting experience and be able to perform core histology laboratory functions efficiently and accurately.

Sign-On Bonus: $500
Paid in two installments: $250 after completing 3 months of employment and $250 after completing 6 months of employment.

Hours: 40-60 hours per month

Work Schedule Options

• Weekly Solo Shift: Work independently every week to cover up to 60 hours per month.
• Biweekly Team Shift: Work every other week alongside another team member to cover 20-30 hours.

Employees have the flexibility to create their own schedule to complete the required workload within the agreed hours.

Primary Job Duties:

Receive biopsy specimens

Prepare tissue for microwave processing

Embed tissue for sectioning

Perform microtomy (sectioning)

Stain slides (H&E)

Coverslipping

Ensure and document appropriate laboratory equipment temperature on a monthly basis

Maintain and track preventive maintenance for lab equipment annually

Perform all routine histology duties manually

Required Qualifications

• Previous biopsy cutting experience
• Competency in:

– Embedding
– Microtomy
– H&E staining
– Coverslipping
– Tissue processing

Preferred: HT certificated
Experienced candidates with 5 years of relevant clinical histology experience preferred.
