Position Summary
Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School is seeking a dependable and hardworking Temporary Day Porter to support our Brookland Campus through November.
The Day Porter plays an important role in keeping our school clean, safe, organized, and welcoming for students, staff, families, and visitors. This position works closely with the Operations Manager and other members of the school team to support the daily operations of the campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash and recycling, and replenish restroom and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain school entrances, sidewalks, and outdoor areas, including removing litter and debris.
- Assist with student arrival and dismissal, including traffic and campus support.
- Help set up and break down spaces for school events and activities.
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns.
- Provide occasional front desk and general operational support as needed.
- Work collaboratively with Operations staff, teachers, administrators, kitchen staff, and other members of the school community.
- Follow all school health, safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the school.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in custodial, facilities, operations, or a school environment preferred.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail.
- Professional and respectful when interacting with students, staff, families, and visitors.
