About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead sales growth in Air and Ocean Freight services in the Austin, Texas market. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue through tailored logistics solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in freight forwarding and a proven track record in B2B sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities in Air and Ocean Freight services
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients across key industries (e.g., manufacturing, retail, technology)
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activity, and industry trends
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements with clients
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline in CRM systems
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to promote services
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain sales
- Strong knowledge of Air Freight and Ocean Freight operations, pricing, and market dynamics
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with a hunter mentality and strong closing ability
- Ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
