Overview
ELS Construction, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Senior Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication, accurate documentation, and successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution
- Assist Project Managers in planning, scheduling, and executing construction projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely project progression
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines
- Support procurement activities including material orders and delivery coordination
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and distribute project documentation such as contracts, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Maintain organized and accurate project files and records
- Assist in compiling project reports, status updates, and meeting minutes
- Ensure proper document control and version tracking
Financial & Administrative Support
- Assist with budget tracking, cost control, and invoice processing
- Support project billing and ensure timely submission of documentation
- Maintain accurate records of project expenses and commitments
Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and internal team members
- Support clear and timely communication across all project channels
- Participate in project meetings and assist with follow-ups and action items
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Support adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and project requirements
- Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and local building codes
- Contribute to quality control efforts and documentation
- Maintain organized and accurate project files and records
- Assist in compiling project reports, status updates, and meeting minutes
- Ensure proper document control and version tracking
Required
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in construction project support, operations, or administrative roles
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, RedTeam Flex, Bluebeam, or similar tools
- Basic understanding of construction processes, terminology, and documentation
Work Environment
- Office-based role located in Nottingham, MD, with occasional visits to project sites as needed
- Fast-paced, team-focused environment requiring attention to detail and adaptability
