Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers with manual transmissions.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using mechanical knowledge and appropriate equipment.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Drive delivery routes, adhering to schedules and traffic laws to ensure punctual deliveries.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and secure loads properly to prevent damage or accidents during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating heavy trucks and specialized vehicles.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with delivery routes involving manual transmission vehicles.
- Mechanical knowledge of trucks such as front loaders, rear loaders, roll-offs, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading processes.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy vehicle operation and cargo handling.
- Prior experience with load & unload procedures using various truck types is preferred.
