Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Pack Shed Associate to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the pack shed, ensuring the safe handling, processing, and packaging of Elmwood Stock Farm products. The Pack Shed Associate plays a key role in preparing weekly CSA shares for members. This position involves packing and organizing fresh product, meat, pantry items, and flowers for weekly delivery. It requires consistent high standard of quality, accuracy, food safety, and presentation.
Duties
- Assemble CSA shares accurately according to pack lists
- Ensure produce quality and attractive presentation for members
- Label boxes, bags and products for pickup and delivery
- Organize CSA orders for efficient distribution
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the pack shed
- Monitor and communicate quality concerns
- Help in preparation for share packing and all other orders
- Provide friendly customer interaction when needed
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs unassisted
Additional
- Become well-versed in the best practices for post-harvest handling of Elmwood organic meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables, flowers and pantry items.
- Be trained in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and maintain compliance with food safety standards
- Gain and maintain knowledge on Organic Certification and maintain compliance during packing, transport, storage, and distribution
- Additional tasks as the needs of the farm change over the season, including but not limited to delivery or pick ups, farm store coverage, tour coverage, etc.
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
