Activities Assistant (Part-time) Evenings 4:30pm - 7:30pm

Elmwood Assisted Living & Memory Care of Fremont is currently seeking 2 part-time activities assistants. These individuals must be self-starters, motivated, have a happy personality and disposition, and possess the ability to stay very active and engaged with the residents by executing a successful activities program to our residents with cognitive impairments. These positions will be working primarily with residents with Alzheimer's Disease/Dementia and residents with cognitive impairments. In depth training on Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia will be provided at the time of hire and on an on-going basis. Both positions are 4 days per week one week, then 3 days per week the other week (this schedule rotates), working rotating weekends and rotating holidays from the hours of 4:30pm-7:30pm (3-4 days per week). These Activity Assistant positions will also be cross-trained as Care Managers who will provide care to our residents as needed. Summary

As an Activity Assistant at Elmwood Assisted Living & Memory Care of Fremont, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging activities and programs including programming for individuals with memory impairments. This position is essential in fostering a supportive environment that promotes social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
• Support residents in participating in various activities, ensuring their engagement and enjoyment.
• Collaborate with the care team to assess residents' needs and preferences for activities.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during all activity sessions.
• Document participation and feedback from residents to help improve future programming.
• Encourage social interaction among residents to build community spirit.

Requirements

• Experience in working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to resident care.
• Ability to plan, organize, and execute engaging activities.
• Knowledge of dementia care practices is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently.
