MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TEACHER: Grades 5-8

QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in elementary education, middle school education, and/or mathematics is required
- New York State teaching certification or equivalent
- A minimum of three years of classroom experience is preferred
- Commitment to equity and inclusion
SKILLS
- Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and also function independently
- Uses data to make informed decisions about curriculum, differentiation, and instruction
- Able to provide accommodations and modifications outlined in students’ learning plans
- Enthusiasm for working with early adolescents
- Proactive communication and engagement with families at EFS
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach four or five sections of math for students in grades five through eight
- Serve as an advisor for a group of eighth grade students
- Proctor study halls and provide math support to students as needed during the school day
- Fulfill other faculty duties as outlined in the Faculty Handbook, including lunchroom supervision, attending faculty meetings, and supervising student events.
COMPENSATION
- The salary for this position will be determined by the teaching experience of the successful candidate and range from $35k-$70k.
