Elmwood Adult Day Health Center is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Housekeeper/Dietary Aide to join our team. This position plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while assisting with meal preparation, meal service, and kitchen sanitation for older adults and adults with disabilities. The ideal candidate is a team player who takes pride in providing excellent service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Housekeeping:
- Clean and sanitize participant areas, dining room, activity rooms, restrooms, offices, restrooms and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors and surfaces.
- Empty trash and replace liners throughout the facility.
- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, handrails, and high-touch surfaces throughout the day.
- Restock paper products, soap, and cleaning supplies as needed.
- Follow infection control procedures and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards promptly.
- Assist with laundry, including participant linens, towels, and cleaning cloths.
- Maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies in an organized and safe manner.
Dietary Aide
- Assist with preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to menus and dietary requirements.
- Set up and clean the dining area before and after meals.
- Portion and serve meals in accordance with special diets and physician orders.
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen in compliance with Rhode Island Department of Health regulations and CACFP guidelines.
- Assist with inventory and notify supervisors when supplies are running low.
General Responsibilities
- Treat participants, families, visitors, and coworkers with dignity, respect, and professionalism.
- Follow all facility policies and procedures.
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous housekeeping, dietary, food service, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices is preferred.
- ServSafe certification is a plus but not required.
