Position Title:  Direct Service Staff

Responsible To:  Schools Program Manager

Basic Function:  To provide direct service and support to identified students through implementation of designated behavior plan in coordination with School District Staff.

Essential Job Functions

• Work with designated students in a manner which builds the student’s self-esteem and motivation to participate in school.
• Acknowledge and work with the potential of all students to participate in the educational process and grow as individuals. 
• Work with designated students to ensure consistency with educational goals and implementation of agreed upon behavior plan.
• Explore academic interests and learning styles as appropriate to support students to attain educational goals.
• Document student progress as required by the program.
• Attend and participate in meetings with school district staff, families, and students as requested and appropriate.
• Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, agency meetings, and in-service trainings.
• Maintain positive working relationship with students, co-workers, supervisors, contractors, and the general public.
• Comply with all applicable Elmview policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Personnel policies, operating policies, and Administrative policies. 
• Represent Elmview in a professional manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One year experience working with people with disabilities
• Familiarity with community resources
• Familiarity with education system

Requirements

• Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or obtain an approved exemption
  
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 18 years of age or older
• First Aid and CPR card or training within 45 days of employment
• Valid Washington state driver’s license
• Proof of insurability for driving
• Ability to meet Immigration and Naturalization I-9 requirements 
• Ability to pass background checks as mandated by state of Washington and school district

Wage

   $15/hour
