The High School Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher prepares students for post-secondary success through comprehensive instruction in essential life and career skills. This role focuses on delivering hands-on, standards-aligned curriculum within a Career and Technical Education (CTE) framework.
Key Responsibilities: The candidate must be able to deliver engaging lessons across diverse subjects, including nutrition and food preparation, child development, financial literacy, textiles, and home management. The teacher should be able to foster an equitable classroom environment by adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and the needs of students with IEPs or 504 plans. Willing to serve as a chapter advisor for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Mentor students in leadership development, community service initiatives, and preparation for competitive events at the state and national levels. Collaborate with divisional teams to ensure curriculum meets Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) standards and evolves with industry trends.Maintain proactive, professional partnerships with parents, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
