Elmhurst CDJR is looking to hire an Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our service team at our location in Elmhurst, IL!
This technician position requires previous automotive technician experience and is NOT an entry-level opportunity. The ideal candidate will have years of experience in the field, specialty industry certification or training, and the ability to be a leader and resource for other technicians on staff.
Requirements:Automotive Technician / Mechanic Qualifications:
- Previous proven automotive technician / mechanic experience required
- ASE Certification or other automotive certifications is a plus
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience within the automotive space
- Attention to detail and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Professional demeanor and effective communication skills with customers
- Valid Driver’s License
Automotive Technician / Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Visually inspect and document condition of vehicle based on customers’ requests or concerns
- Conduct initial diagnostic testing to identify specific issues impacting vehicles
- Perform more complex maintenance services on vehicles including (but not limited to) engine replacement, electrical work, transmission repair and more
- Document all services and repairs performed to provide to service advisors and/or customers
- Identify any additional recommendations for services and communicate with management
- Communicate with other service staff and/or customers if additional services are required and ensure information is documented and outlined
- Assist other service technicians or staff with questions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Answer high-level questions posed by customers and service staff
- Maintain a clean and safe service department
