Permit Specialist

THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems and plumbing services
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to type information while speaking with customers
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and employees over the Internet
• Ability to handle inbound and outbound phone calls
• Ability to work on weekends and evenings
• Education or vocational training in HVAC or construction fields is beneficial
• Project management skills are preferred
• Experience with ServiceTitan is preferred
• Local or state permitting process certification is preferred
• HVAC basics certification is a plus

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS A PERMIT SPECIALIST

As a Permit Specialist at Elmer's Home Services, you'll be at the heart of our operations, managing the permit application process from start to finish. Your day involves reviewing all permit applications to ensure they are complete and meet local, state, and federal guidelines. You'll coordinate with government agencies to ensure timely submissions and track all deadlines in our detailed database. You will communicate with our Installation and service managers, dispatch, third-party vendors, and contractors to clarify permit requirements, resolve any issues, and move projects forward without delay. Additionally, you'll stay up-to-date on any changes to local regulations and help resolve any compliance issues that may arise, ensuring our business stays in good standing.
