What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Clerk position at Elmer's County Market?
We are looking for courteous, customer-focused Deli Clerks who are committed to providing customers with the best service possible.
Responsibilities:
- Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, and responding to requests.
- Slicing, weighing, packaging and pricing meats and cheeses.
- Preparing special orders and party trays.
- Preparing salads, soups, sandwiches and other deli items.
- Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
- Confirming that all displays, products, and services comply with company standards.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to lift heavy items, ranging from 25 to 50 lbs. and operate equipment, such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, etc.
- Excellent customer service, communications, and math skills
- Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
- A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions and complaints.
Afternoon to evening shifts. Weekend availability a must.
