General Description: The Part-Time General Laborer is responsible for working where assigned in either the cheese department or the whey department. This position is responsible for accurately filling and securing cheese/whey products to ship to customers. This position must interact well with all other departments of the cooperative and be willing to learn and assist in other areas as needed.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate forklift efficiently and in a safe manner.
• Properly record production data as needed.
• Load/unload trucks as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance of equipment.
• Properly operate the scan gun in working with products.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
  
  

Cheese Production Only

• Accurately set up and run the curd line.
• Fill 25 lb. to 50 lb. curd boxes. Proceed to stack these boxes on a pallet.
• Understand the set up and clean-up operation of the barrel line.
• Make barrels and boxes for the sale of products.
• Fill and cap 500 lb. barrels. Proceed to arrange barrels on pallets.
  
  

Whey Production Only

• Assist dryer operators in the shut down and cleaning operations.
• Fill, bag, and stack whey products on a pallet.
• Accurately and efficiently prepare loads for shipping as per the Bill of Lading.
• When assigned, assist pan operator in cleaning of the evaporators.
  
  

Wage

• Part Time - $24.00/hr
• Overtime paid after 8 hours on a shift
• Additional bonus pay for overnight and Sunday shifts
  
  

Requirements

Schedule:

• 2nd and 3rd Shifts needed - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays!
• Minimum 2 weekends required per month
• Part Time = Work 2-4-days/week on average or up to full time hours seasonally!
