JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Detailer to join our team at Ellsworth Auto Body Shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning and detailing vehicles after the completion of repairs, ensuring that all vehicles are presented to customers in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automotive care, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing high-quality detailing services, including washing, waxing, and polishing of exterior surfaces, cleaning of interior surfaces and vacuuming of carpets and upholstery after repairs to ensure that they are presented to customers in excellent condition
- Conduct Paint correction and polishing using buffing machines (rotary and/or dual-action).
- Remove surface scratches, oxidation, swirl marks and water spots
- Inspect vehicles to identify any damage or defects that may need attention and report to supervisor any vehicle damage or issues
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to complete detailing tasks, including pressure washers, buffers and vacuums effectively and safely
- Shampoo carpets and upholstery;clean leather, vinyl and plastic surfaces.
- Clean engine bays, door jambs, wheels, tires and undercarriages
- Inspect completed vehicles to identify any damage or defects that may need attention and to ensure our high-quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detailing area and equipment
- Keep detailed records of work performed on each vehicle
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction
- Adhere to company safety protocols
- Other maintenance duties as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive detailing
- Proven experience with buffing and paint correction techniques
- Strong understanding of different buffing pads, compounds and polishes
- Ability to use detailing tools and equipment effectively
- Attention to detail and pride in craftmanship
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, high production shop
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks in various weather conditions
- Outstanding time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks, including bending, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments
