The Welder 3 can read and understand weldment and fabrication drawings. They will use different types of weld machines and weld processes that include: MIG, TIG, plasma cutter, cutting torch on stainless steel, steel, and aluminum. The Welder 3 has successfully passed additional weld (vertical up, horizontal, and overhead) qualifications

Key Responsibilities
- Thorough understanding of MIG/TIG processes & machine settings procedures
- Read, understand, and detect errors in the weldment and fabrication drawings; lay out, assemble, tack, and weld to the drawings
- Operate vertical and horizontal band saws, and drill presses
- Operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torch
- Cut, drill, and deburr material using drawing instructions and blueprints
- Work safely and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ensure that all work meets or exceeds quality specifications
- Keep work area clean, maintain tools and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Welding trade school certification or 3 years prior MIG or TIG welding experience
- Must be able to pass a Company weld evaluation (MIG & TIG)
- Operate a plasma cutter and acetylene torch
- Read and understand blueprints
- The ability to use a tape measure and operate small powered hand tools
- Basic computer skills are required
