Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospitalist for a full-time, on-site role located in Schenectady, NY. The Hospitalist will provide high-quality inpatient care, manage acute medical conditions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating illnesses, coordinating with specialists, utilizing evidence-based practices, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and hospital performance. The position also involves supporting medical education activities for residents and students as part of our teaching healthcare system.
Qualifications
- Expertise in diagnosing and managing acute medical conditions and delivering patient-centered inpatient care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical documentation
- Commitment to continuous learning, evidence-based practices, and participation in hospital quality improvement initiatives
- Current and unrestricted medical license in the State of New York
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Experience in a hospitalist role or inpatient care setting is preferred
- Ability to educate and mentor residents and medical students
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed
