What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Elliotts On Linden?
Bartenders will be professional, high-energy employees with excellent communication skills to serve classic cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. Bartenders will greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items and prepare and serve beverages and food. To succeed, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. Bartender should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable and personable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Set up bar using checklist provided.
• Have bar set up and ready to go by 4:30
• Memorization of all cocktails and passing of bar test
• Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, and beer
• Ability to craft cocktails to run as specials.
• Extensive menu knowledge and passing of menu test.
• Taking dirty glasses and plates back to the dish room
• Handling guest requests
• Keeping bar clean and presentable during service
• Making drinks for the restaurant in a timely manner
• Communicate 86’d items and update board.
• Ability to use POS system without mistakes.
• How to properly run food
• How to properly polish glassware
• Knowledge of table and seat numbers
• Keeping coolers clean, downsize containers, when necessary, don’t overstock product.
• Close using checklist provided.
Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a bartender
- Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
