Position Summary
As an accounting clerk you will support the financial operations of Elliott Lodging by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, processing monthly sales tax returns, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for multiple properties
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate property-level financial records and reports
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
- Prepare and file annual licensing and property taxes
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
- Support external audits and tax preparations
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or property management
- Proficient in Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of financial reporting
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using 10 key calculator
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in accounting or currently enrolled
