Overview & Responsibilities The position of Senior Manufacturing Engineer exists to provide a technical liaison between Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality Assurance. The position identifies coordinates, and implements, activities with all functional areas that contribute to new, improved or more efficient technologies, processes, and product designs. Responsibilities Through capital planning justifications, the incumbent will assist in preparing for new manufacturing technology and complicated technical systems and provide the necessary skills for successful completion of capital projects. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer develops work instructions and procedures ensuring consistency in manufacturing and assembly of the products produced. As required issues emergency engineering instructions. The position provides technical liaison between manufacturing and engineering to ensure a design to cost approach and manufacturability of components parts within the ISO quality requirements. This position also monitors and analyzes costs and recommends corrective and preventative action as required. Qualifications Educational requirements include a four-year degree, preferably BSME, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related field. Training in Basic Accounting, Problem Solving, and Decision Analysis is essential. Job experience must include at least 10 years in a heavy equipment machining and assembly environment with progressive responsibilities. Significant experience manufacturing high speed rotating equipment is desired. Technical skills must include in-depth knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, State-of-the-art Machining, Assembly, Manufacturing Techniques and Tool Design. Additional skills required would include a working knowledge of CAD, CAM, and Related systems, non-traditional machining processes, welding, balancing, and inspection techniques.
