Duties
- Monitor pool areas continuously to enforce safety rules and prevent accidents
- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid and CPR when necessary
- Conduct regular pool maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, skimming debris, and checking chemical levels to ensure optimal water quality
- Assist guests with pool access, provide information about pool rules, and address guest inquiries with a friendly attitude
- Perform routine pool cleaning including vacuuming, scrubbing tiles, and maintaining surrounding deck areas
- Inspect safety equipment regularly to ensure all lifesaving devices are in proper working order
- Collaborate with team members to uphold cleanliness standards and ensure a safe environment for all visitors
Requirements
- Proven lifeguard experience or certification from a recognized organization (e.g., Red Cross, YMCA) including CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to swim proficiently in various strokes and depths of water
- Comfortable performing heavy lifting tasks related to pool maintenance and equipment handling
- Knowledge of pool maintenance procedures such as chemical balancing and cleaning techniques
- Strong guest service skills with a positive, approachable demeanor
- Ability to stay alert for extended periods while maintaining focus on safety protocols
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed
