What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operators position at Ellingson Farms?
Workers will operate agricultural equipment such as tractors, sprayers, seeders, combines, and grain carts to plant, cultivate, and harvest grain crops including wheat, corn, and soybeans. In spring, duties include preparing fields, applying fertilizer, calibrating equipment, and operating planters. During the growing season, workers will monitor crop development and operate sprayers and related machinery for weed and pest control. In fall, tasks include operating combines and grain carts to harvest crops and transporting harvested grain to on-farm storage. Equipment must be cleaned and maintained regularly to ensure proper functioning, including conducting routine inspections and basic mechanical servicing. Workers will assist with equipment setup and end-of-season storage procedures. Use of GPS-enabled systems and precision farming technology is required for field operations. Duties must be performed efficiently and accurately within narrow timeframes driven by crop stages and weather conditions. Work is conducted outdoors in varying weather and requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to shifting tasks based on operational needs. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
