- 1 year of experience in a veterinary medicine environment
- Must be 18 years or older
- Able to lift 30 lbs or more
- Able to stay calm and efficient during medical crisis
- Exposed to zoonotic diseases, animal bites, and scratches
- Exceptional communication skills
- Experience with safe patient restraint
- X-ray positioning
- Surgery assistance
- Current knowledge of client education
- Assist Veterinarian and staff with appointments, treatments, surgeries, hospital cases, prescription refills, client phone calls, and emergencies.
- Thorough knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile procedures
- Perform lab work
- Assist in making estimates and appointments
- Knowledge of veterinary medications and terminology
- Entering patient services into paper lite software
- Assist with cleaning, stocking the department as needed
- Update doctor and client on patient status
- Assist in other departments as needed
- Replace assistant in procedures as needed
- Cross training is highly encouraged
- Must enjoy working with animals and able to care for them even when they are stressed
- Supports the goals and mission of our facility
- Must be able to pass background check
- Must be able to pass drug screening
