What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Handler and Crate Builder position at Ellicott Dredge Technologies?
The Parts Handler and Crate Builder is responsible for ensuring parts are being handled and crates are being built correctly and completely to help with inventory control. This individual is also responsible for the staging of materials for production floor. Building crates for shipping and loading trucks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Receive items by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers
- Verify items received by inspecting condition of items, comparing count of items to purchase order and packing slip and noting discrepancies
- Document items received by recording identifying information
- Ensure inventory accuracy through bi-weekly cycle counts
- Receipt material into inventory using ERP Software
- Issue material to production using ERP Software
- Accurately pull material according to traveler requirements and stages to production floor
- Place materials in inventory according to procedure as well as pulls product from stock locations.
- Operate fork lift
- Prepare shipments by building crates, packing, labeling, stretch wrapping product to ensure product quality is not compromised
- Generate paperwork required for shipping to vendors/customers in the required format including packing slips, bill of ladings, certifications, labels
- Perform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
