Accountant

We are expanding our Finance Team and are seeking an Accountant to join Ellenbecker Investment Group. The Accountant is responsible for supporting the firm’s financial integrity through accurate reporting, timely reconciliations, and the consistent application of accounting best practices. This role plays an integral part in maintaining high‐quality financial operations that support EIG’s commitment to excellence and extraordinary service. Responsibilities include accounts payable and accounts receivable, operational accounting, financial reporting, and participation in month‐end and year‐end close. The ideal candidate brings one or more years of accounting experience, is detail‐oriented and organized, demonstrates strong problem‐solving skills, and thrives in a collaborative, team‐focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable:
• Manages the AP/AR cycle, including invoice processing, client billing, vendor payments, and expense tracking.
• Ensures timely and accurate processing of transactions.
• Reviews and verifies coding of expenses and financial entries.

Operational and Administrative Accounting:

• Maintains and organizes financial records in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
• Supports budgeting and forecasting activities.

Financial Reporting and Reconciliation:

• Performs monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Assists with preparing audit ready documentation and supporting schedules.

Month-End & Year-End Close:

• Assists with monthend and yearend closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Communicates with team members to obtain needed information.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

• Participates in special projects, reporting initiatives, and process implementation.
• Works collaboratively to identify efficiencies and implement improvements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 1 years of accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting or professional services or financial services preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting and accounting principles.
• Knowledge of accounting software and financial systems preferred.
• Excellent accuracy, strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• A high level of ethics and integrity is required.
• Must clear full background check including credit criminal history for consideration of employment.
• Must have the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a very fast-paced, deadline driven, fluid team environment.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills are required.
• Must have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office.
