Due to the exponential growth they have experienced, and with an ever-increasing pipeline of orders, they’ve decided to build their own integrated EPC team. As the Structural Engineer, you will execute and lead technical work on their EPC projects for switchyards and substations. You will need to work collaboratively with their integrated EPC team along with their clients to execute and provide world class, quality focused deliverables for their construction team.

  • Lead technical design efforts for substation projects and serve as a technical authority or engineer of record as needed.
  • Conduct and review complex engineering analyses and design tasks, applying current standards, tools, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal EPC teams and external stakeholders to manage RFIs, change orders, deliverables, and procurement activities.
  • Review vendor documentation to ensure alignment with technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Mentor team members and provide technical guidance across projects and disciplines.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on customer satisfaction, design quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Support the development and implementation of standardized engineering practices and reusable templates.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry best practices, identifying relevant applications.
  • Ensure timely, efficient execution of assigned tasks to optimize productivity.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes for engineering outputs to maintain accuracy and reliability.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise and leadership within multidisciplinary teams.

The Structural Engineer’s Qualifications Will be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of structural engineering experience, with a focus on switchyards, substations, power generation, or industrial energy infrastructure.
  • Proficient in interpreting and producing grounding, area classification, single-line, schematic, and motor control drawings, with knowledge of protective devices and coordination.
  • Experienced in complex structural design, including dynamic foundation and vibration analysis, as well as deep foundation systems.
  • Skilled in performing structural calculations for foundations, steel members, baseplates, anchor rods, and connections.
  • Strong command of relevant design codes and standards (e.g., ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBC, NESC).
  • Familiar with structural analysis tools such as SAP2000, MathCAD, IdeaStatica, and Hilti software.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex technical content across various levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines, with attention to safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Applies quality assurance processes independently and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provides technical mentorship and oversight of standards, design guides, and applicable engineering practices.
  • Participates in scope management, including client interactions and design changes, under engineering leadership supervision.
