We're partnering with an innovative advanced manufacturing organization that is building highly automated production systems from the ground up. This is an opportunity to play a key role in developing custom automation equipment, material handling systems, and manufacturing machinery that will support a state-of-the-art production environment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking equipment from concept through commissioning and wants to work on complex mechanical automation projects—not simply robot programming.
Responsibilities:
- Design custom automation equipment, machinery, and material handling systems
- Develop complete automation solutions from concept through implementation
- Create 3D equipment designs, layouts, manufacturing drawings, and assembly documentation using SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Design mechanical systems including conveyors, actuators, servo-driven equipment, pneumatics, and mechatronic assemblies
- Support equipment testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts
- Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate PLCs, robotics, and automated equipment
- Optimize manufacturing processes for safety, efficiency, and reliability
- Present technical concepts and equipment designs to engineering leadership
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3 years of experience designing industrial automation equipment or custom manufacturing machinery
- Strong experience with machine design, mechanical systems, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Experience designing equipment layouts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings
- Familiarity with material handling equipment, bulk material systems, conveyors, feeders, or automated production equipment
- Experience supporting equipment fabrication, installation, commissioning, or startup
- Experience in Powder processing or bulk material handling equipment, Robotics integration (FANUC, ABB, etc.), and PLC-Controlled manufacturing equipment (Allen-Bradley or Siemens)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial automation
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
