Overview
A Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Supervisor manages and supports a team of caregivers to ensure high-quality, compliance, and compassionate in-home care. Key responsibilities include conducting client assessments, monitoring service delivery via field visits, training and scheduling staff, maintaining accurate care records, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
Core Responsibilities
- Staff Management: Recruiting, onboarding, training, and scheduling personal care staff to ensure adequate coverage and high performance.
- Client Care Oversight: Conducting initial and ongoing client assessments to develop, implement, and update individualized care plans.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Performing on-site supervisory visits to monitor care quality and ensuring compliance with agency policies and state regulations.
- Communication & Support: Acting as a liaison between clients, families, and staff, providing support and reporting changes in client conditions.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate clinical records, Care Notes, and payroll/billing paperwork.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in caregiving (PCA/HHA) is required, typically with 1–3 years of supervisory experience in home care, clinical, or social service settings.
- Education: A high school diploma is required
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification is generally required.
Physical Requirements
- This position often requires driving to various client locations for field visits.
- Extensive phone use, computer work, and occasional lifting may be required.
