Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate Montessori-based curriculum tailored for infants and toddlers, emphasizing sensory exploration, language acquisition, and motor skills.
- Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages independence, curiosity, and positive social interactions among young children.
- Engage in daily child care routines including feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene practices with patience and professionalism.
- Observe and assess each child's progress in areas such as cognitive development, emotional regulation, and physical growth; document findings for ongoing planning.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's milestones, behaviors, and developmental needs through clear and compassionate updates.
- Manage classroom activities efficiently by organizing materials, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons that incorporate Montessori principles like hands-on learning and individualized instruction while adhering to mandated reporting laws when necessary.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood settings, preferably within Montessori or similar educational frameworks.
- Knowledge of child development stages from birth to age three, including early intervention strategies and special education considerations.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing training in childhood welfare and safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques suited for infants and toddlers.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare compliance.
- Passion for early childhood education with a focus on fostering literacy education, physical activity (including experience teaching physical education), math concepts appropriate for young learners, and overall preschool teaching excellence.
