The Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, managing changes, and meeting quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Management
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resources working collectively with the General Superintendents.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to define project requirements.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet objectives.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets.
- Track project expenses and manage changes to the project scope or costs.
- Ensure financial targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure adherence to environmental and safety guidelines throughout the project.
- Lead project teams, including General Superintendents and foremen, and subcontractors.
- Assign responsibilities and set expectations for team members.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior team members as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and solutions.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review progress and address concerns.
- Develop and enforce quality control plans to ensure high standards in collaboration with General Superintendents.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to minimize risks and maintain compliance in collaboration with General Superintendents.
- Conduct site visits to inspect work progress and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, permits, schedules, and budgets.
- Prepare and submit project reports to stakeholders and company leadership.
- Ensure proper project closeout, including final documentation and turnover to the client.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in underground utility construction or a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of underground utility systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in project management software (Heavy Job, Heavy Big, Foundation).
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience working with GIS mapping tools and utility locating technology.
- Familiarity with green infrastructure or sustainable construction practices.
- Estimating Software plans- Planswift, Heavy Bid, HCSS Plans for example.
