RTI Teacher/Interventionist
Purpose Statement:
The job of the RTI teacher/interventionist is to provide training and support to K-12 (school assigned) building level administrators and classroom teachers regarding educational interventions for at-risk students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Tennessee teaching license and appropriate grade level certification required.
- Master’s Degree with appropriate endorsement for grade level & HQ status preferred.
- Three years or more teaching experience is preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
- Report to the site principal.
- To give full, willing and helpful cooperation in carrying out all reasonable instructions or extra assignments which are given by the principal before, after and during the school day.
- To follow state and local courses of study, to follow rules and policies established by the principal.
- To give full, willing and helpful cooperation in carrying out the Response to Intervention (RTI) process in schools K-12 (school assigned).
- To assist schools in the organization of the Universal Screening process.
- To provide training to administrators and teachers in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process and educational interventions.
- Model research-based instructional interventions and collaborate with teachers to determine approaches that best meet students’ needs.
- Provide consultation to schools regarding the progress of struggling students and offer suggestions for intervention to meet students’ needs.
- Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
Working Environment:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 40% sitting, 20% walking, and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience: Job related experience is required.
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in job related area.
Continuing Education/Training: Maintain Licensure.
Certificates and Licenses: Teachers Certification and/or License in the subject area
