Elkhart Grain Company Operations Specialist
Responsible for operational activities. Assist in activities at all other locations as directed.
Provide maximum service to all customers.
Physical Requirements of Job
Must be physically able to perform job. Job includes climbing, scooping, lifting 100 lbs, lifting above shoulder height. Must be prepared to work in all weather. It is the responsibility of the employee to be prepared physically and equipped properly to perform the job.
Relationships/Communication
Reports directly to Location Superintendent.
Assist in supervision of part time operational employees.
Maintains good working relationship with all other employees.
Customer Service
Provide prompt, professional, courteous service.
Assure that no customer unloads his own grain and elevator personnel load all outbound
trucks.
Support and promote company policies and procedures.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Housekeeping:
Is responsible for condition and appearance of assigned facility.
Maintain housekeeping standards and records as specified in reports.
Safety:
Be continually aware and practice safe operating procedures.
Provide security for buildings and equipment at Elkhart.
Correct or report to Operations manager any unsafe conditions or practices.
Maintenance:
Perform periodic maintenance to identify and prevent problems and to extend the life of the equipment as directed and as identified in locational manuals.
Document and report any problem that can not be handled to the
Location Operations Manager.
Grain Handling:
Develop an understanding of bin layout and equipment, capacity, limitations
and grain flow through entire facility.
Receive, segregate, blend, dry, and store grain efficiently.
Load out grain avoiding discounts and minimizing shrink.
Condition grain as needed (dry, clean, aerate, fumigate).
Maintain accurate record of grade and location of grain and prevent loss.
Check temps, aerate, physical inspections, check moistures.
Sample and grade grain correctly. Report off grades
Maintain grain-grading skills.
Participate in pre planning harvest activities.
Provide input in post harvest evaluation.
Cost Effectiveness:
Minimize grain thrown away.
Avoid loss or damage to tools.
Be aware of electrical power demand.
Acquire authorization before all purchases.
Other:
Complete daily, weekly and monthly tasks as assigned.
Complete all other duties as assigned.
Contribute to performance evaluation by setting self-improvement goals.
Commit to improving and maintaining company image in all areas.
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour

- Ag Operations: 1 year (Preferred)
